Break your fingers at 10AM

by admin on February 24, 2010

Despite the fact that an anonymous doctor recently said that patients were ‘slightly incidental’ to his job, I love the NHS.

That’s because when I broke a couple of fingers recently the care I got was outstanding.

  • Into A&E at 10AM.
  • Examined 10.17
  • X-Rays 10.37
  • Patched up 11.10
  • Exit A&E 11.27

As I booked my next appointment (eight weeks in splints!) I mentioned how impressed I was with the service. The cheery reply came back:

“Well, if you’re going to smash your fingers, do it in the morning. It gets crazy in here after lunch”.
