Is this the longest known Facebook timeline?

The team behind new London Business Improvement District inmidtown has stretched Facebook’s Timeline to its limits by posting historic events right back to 1086!

inmidtown (branded as Go To Midtown on Facebook) represents the interests of businesses in Holborn, Bloomsbury and St Giles in London, and aims to make the area a destination of choice for everyone.

Fans browsing the Timeline can enjoy a potted history of the area comprising snippets about events such as:

  • A momentous appearence in the Domesday Book
  • A deadly duel at dusk in Bloomsbury Square
  • Haile Selassie attending a service for all killed in the Abyssinian War.

I’m pretty sure Facebook hadn’t been invented back in the middle ages (!) but now events from those days are chronologically listed for fans of the area.

There are probably Facebook Timelines out there with more events listed but I’ve not heard of one with events of almost 1,000 years old. It’s a clever idea and one that make the Facebook page more informative and useful for fans.
